Getting Started

At Thyme For Design we are artists at heart and love our jobs so much it feels more like play than work. We are always looking for new artistic challenges and would love to assist you in bringing your innovative new project to life. Keeping things simple is our goal.

Before we begin work on your project, we require all clients to electronically sign our client agreement. Projects are moved into the active queue as soon as a down payment of 50% of the estimated cost is received.  We work on a first come first serve basis.  The start time for your project will be determined by the number of active projects currently in our queue. Have a deadline or need an estimated time? Just ask and we’ll work out a schedule with you.

Communication

The majority of our communication will be done via email – quite simply it is because most of the tasks we will need you to handle will come with links to web sites and information. Email also provides a record of our communication we can refer to as needed. We are also very mobile and it is often easier for us to respond to email than a phone call. If a phone call is needed, we would be happy to schedule a time to meet with you. Just ask!

Because many of our projects hinge on communication and decision-making, we tend to keep no more than 2-3 projects in the active queue at a time so we can keep our workflow moving.  In order to assure that your project stays on track, please be attentive to any emails from us.  We try to handle all emails within 2 business days.

If we don’t hear from you within one week after calling or email, you may receive a notice that your project has been removed from our current schedule. We will make additional attempts to reach you before rescheduling your project.

Scheduling

Our main offices are located in Illinois which is in the Central time zone.  We do not hold traditional office hours and our schedules can vary from week to week. We budget the time it takes for our projects and schedule accordingly.

We work very hard to allow time for each project and we are pretty good at estimating our workload.  But since the Internet is a constantly changing landscape, we are in a perpetual state of learning and catching up to current trends, new browsers and technology.  We will do our best to deliver your project on time, but please be patient should we run into the occasional unforeseen glitch.  We will always notify you when an issue arises and work with you to find a resolution.

Billing

Invoices are sent as work is completed. Depending on the scope of your project, you may receive more than one invoice as the project progresses. Payments are due on receipt and are considered late after 30 days of the date on the invoice. We accept checks via postal mail and electronic transactions via paypal.

Invoices not paid after the 30 day window are subject to a 10% late fee.  Once payments become late, any current projects will be removed from our active queue until payments are complete. Late payments will most likely compromise the original completion date for your project.

Satisfaction

You put your trust in our talents and expertise. Our goal is to exceed your expectations. If you are not happy with the results of your project, please discuss the situation with us as soon as possible. We will work with you to resolve the issue. The following is a list of situations where we are unable to make changes without incurring additional costs:

  • If the changes are requested after you have given the final approval on the design
  • If the artwork from a different firm is not available and will need to be recreated by Thyme For Design
  • If the business closes, changes its name, or changes its activity
  • If the work requested requires a third party solution over which Thyme For Design has no control
  • If the changes requested are outside the scope of the original estimate
